A warm, welcoming, and relaxed Modern Orthodox Zionist congregation, proudly standing with Israel.

Durham OK Kehilla is a member of The Orthodox Union and part of Beth El Synagogue, building a vibrant Jewish community in the growing, dynamic Triangle area of North Carolina.

Who We Are

Located in Durham, home to Duke University, our congregation thrives in an internationally diverse environment—welcoming members from France, Israel, El Salvador, and, of course, America!

We are a family-oriented, inclusive community, embracing individuals at all levels of Jewish knowledge. To ensure comfort during services, one of our members thoughtfully announces page numbers in the Siddur.

Our Shabbat Services

• Shabbat Morning Minyan – 9:00 AM

• Followed by a lively kiddush, featuring delicious cholent/חמין (thank you, Philippe!).

• Our services are fully participatory, with community members leading all parts of tefillah.

We are located at 1004 Watts St, Durham, NC 27701, downstairs at Beth El Synagogue—walkable from much of Durham. And since last year, our community proudly has an Eruv!
